Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School

School Uniform

New Smartypants logo

All children are encouraged to wear the school uniform of a royal blue jumper or cardigan with a white shirt and school tie. Boys wear grey trousers with grey or black socks whilst girls may wear grey skirts, pinafore or trousers (but no stretchy material or leggings) with white socks or plain grey tights. In the summer boys and girls may wear grey shorts and girls may wear blue and white gingham dresses. The children wear black flat shoes but NOT trainers.

Sportswear (girls and boys) consists of a white T-shirt, black shorts, trainers, a swimsuit, swimming hat and towel (any colour). In winter a black tracksuit may also be worn for outside PE. Key Stage 2 children may wear football boots (if appropriate). All PE kit, except the swimwear, is to remain in school daily.

For health and safety reasons,

  • Children must not wear jewellery in school. The exceptions to this rule are ear-ring studs in pierced ears, small objects of religious significance, such as a crucifix on a chain or medical items which may appear to be items of jewellery. Children must be able to remove these objects themselves for P.E. lessons; and
  • All long hair must be tied back whilst in school. Hair accessories should be school colours or plain black. Hair clips should kept to a minimum

Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School uniform can be bought from Smarty Pants School Uniforms by mail order on 01277 363275 or on-line. Click here to order online.
